Unlike kinesio (or dynamic) tape, the rigid tape doesn’t stretch. Its role is to stop a body area from moving. It is used by therapists in situations where the range of motion (ROM) needs to be restricted for protective or postural reasons.

Rigid tape strapping is used for example, in ankle sprain injuries, shoulder and lower back injuries, injuries to the foot and toes, injuries to the hand and fingers, and for postural purposes such as rolled-in shoulders.
